Our team was drug to the door last night at 11pm and told we were going to sleep on the street. All students believed it, but it was a joke - a purposeful joke that helped set the perspective for today.
At 6am we left YWAM with $.75/each and are not welcome back until 3. We are wearing what we wore to bed and did not brush our teeth. Pray for each team to have powerful discussions about our walk with Jesus and the need for humility in our lives.
Pray for us to be the light of Jesus on the streets today!
Agenda today
- Homeless Plunge
- Hot Chocolate Evangelism
Thanks for praying

I have kept up reading each entry and looking at the blog a couple times a day because I'm so excited to see what God is doing next. The entries have brought me to tears, smiles, and prayer. I continue to pray for each person on the team that God would change their hearts forever and that they would have a burning passion for the down and out. Claudia H.
ReplyDeletePraying for everyone on the team! I'm looking forward to seeing different teenagers when they come back.
ReplyDeletepraying for all of you on this homeless day...as you move toward the end of your time at YWAM I pray that God gives you the eyes to see all he has done so far and speaks loudly to your hearts of what you are still to do. Sandra C.
ReplyDeleteEach and everyone on this trip are in my thoughts and prayers daily. What an important mission this is. Spreading the good news of Jesus Christ. There are so many seemingly hopeless people in this world.
ReplyDeleteLove and prayers,

I've been praying daily for all of you - and God is faithful - lives are being challenged and broken for His sake. What a testimony you all are to us here in Wooster - so courageous for the cause of Christ. Press on - God has more work to do through all of you. P.S. - love you and miss you Lindsay Doerr!!

p.s. I love reading the comments from parents and your prayer partners here at home almost as much as I enjoy reading the blog.
I was anxiously awaiting a blog entry after knowing the mission team was experiencing a "homeless day." The day ended with no update so I checked the blog early Thurs. morn. Still no update! (I realize there is a 3 hour time difference.) During my time of prayer for the team, the Lord brought this thought to me. Many times the families of the homeless do not know where their loved one is for months or even years. So we need to be praying for the families of the homeless also. It must be awful to have no contact with your loved one or not even know where they are. So as I pray for the homeless, I also want to remember their families. And, of course, I'm praying for the Holy Spirit to move in the hearts of the mission team as never before. Mary Anne Sansom, Jesse's grandma
ReplyDeleteMary Anne, WOW, that is an incredible thought about homelessness and their families. Thank you for the challenge. AMEN! And, you have an incredible grandson!
