Opening thoughts

Everyone arrived at the church tonight and after a season of prayer we parted with our family and friends!

Then our team met for the opening message from Pastor Nick. He asked 2 questions to start:

- Why are you going?

- How do you want to be different when you get back?

Then we were challenged from 1 Corinthians 3:12-15. Our motive for going matters. A cup of cold water (or hot chocolate in this case) still is a good work and can make an eternal difference. But our actions will go before the judgment seat of Christ.

It was an intense and shocking way to begin, but we spent time confessing sin, asking God for wisdom, and thanking Him for calling us to this trip.

Pray with us that our motives would be pure for going and serving and that "the work will be shown for what it is."

Amen.
